Gorman Heritage Farm in Cincinnati, Ohio

It all started when I sold my friend Annie a house in Reading. Our kids are close in age and we found ourselves scheduling playdates often after the sale of her home. She has been taking her daughter to pre-school classes offered at Gorman Heritage Farm. The week of the last class I found myself with a few free hours and thought I’d take her up on the offer to join for Tractor Day with JJ and Fitz. This farm is just the cutest 122 acre farm you ever did see and it’s settled in the middle of suburbia. It’s one of those places only the locals know about (hence why I never heard of it until I sold a house in this area!)

The class started off with tractor painting, story time, petting baby chickies, and playing with the barn yard toys. Then we walked to the top of the hill and loaded up onto the tractor and went for a ride around the farm. We stopped at the top of the hill and there where chickens running around, a friendly black barnyard cat, and mules that were so large I did not even know what kind of animal they were!! Did you know… A female mule is called a molly or mare. A female donkey is called a jennet and can be bred with a male horse to create a hinny. (my take away from the class) The class ended with petting chickens, bunnies, goats, and sheep. JJ really warmed up to the barnyard cat and chicken. Fitz enjoyed the tractor ride. I highly recommend this farm. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The animals were happy and very active (which is an important feature when your entertaining a toddler). To the large fields of sunflowers in the fall to the colorful flower gardens in the summer. Gorman Heritage Farm is a place unlike any other. I just love how the farm is tucked away in the middle of Evendale. It’s a place that everyone in your family will enjoy and learn. A true oasis of farm life. Scroll down to see photos from our day at the Farm.

Their pre-school classes run for 8 weeks every winter. There are summer camps for all ages to attend. They offer adult cooking classes focusing on “farm to table” You can catch us at their upcoming event: Sunflower Festival The event they are most well known for is their Sunflower Festival.
